Materials
Yarn: The 6-Day Star Blanket can be made with virtually any yarn! A very popular option is to make this blanket with scraps left over from other projects. In fact, Star Blanket September is an offshoot of “Stash Bust September” – a trend started by The Morning Crafter and promoted by Lea from Kouzi Krafts on TikTok. Stash Bust September is a no-buy challenge meant to help crafters work from the materials they’ve already purchased for the entire month of September.
6-Day Star Blankets are amazing stash-busting projects, so if you’re observing Stash Bust September, then you’re definitely in the right place. For more information about making a scrappy 6-Day Star, see my FAQ article: How to Make Your 6-Day Star Blanket with Scrap Yarn.
Yardage
For DK or #3 weight yarn you will need approximately 1600 yards for a 40” baby blanket and 2800 yards for a 60” throw-sized blanket.
For Worsted or #4 weight yarn you will need approximately 1500 yards for a 40” baby blanket and 2500 yards for a 60” throw-sized blanket.
I’ll be using Juniper Moon Farms Cumulus Degrade in #410 Senna Sandcastle. It is a #4 weight “worsted” cotton blend, and it comes in 240 yard balls. I have six which I think will be enough for a baby or toddler sized blanket. It should be super cozy!
I’m really excited to try this yarn, it’s so squishy soft! I’m sure it will make an amazing 6-Day Star Blanket. Thank you to Knitting Fever for supplying this yarn for this project!
I’ll be live at the following times to work on my 6-Day Star Blanket. Join me on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, or in my Facebook Groups.

Star Blanket September 6-Day Superstar
I’ll be making my 6-Day Superstar Blanket in Knitting Fever KFI Collection Pinwheel in the color Flamingo.
This is a really sweet new yarn from Knitting Fever, 100% acryllic in gradient colors. It is a #2 weight, but I’ve worked with it a little and it works up with a 5.5 mm hook very similarly to other #3 weight acryllics I’ve used. Each cake has 544 yards and were very nicely priced at my Local Yarn Store Yarn and More in Nags Head, NC. This yarn is a very nice premium acryllic option for those of us who love gradient acryllic yarns for baby blankets and other projects.
Gradients are amazing for the 6-Day Superstar Blanket and I’m excited to keep working this one up.
Since all of the 6-Day Star, Superstar, and Supernova Blankets start with the same 8 setup rounds, I’ve pre-gamed by working them up ahead of the lives. I’ll be starting the live at Setup Round 9.
Furls Metal Streamline
You all know that I’m a die-hard Furls Odyssey gal, and ever since they stopped making them, I’ve been in a sheer panic, because even though I have a good many of them, I can never find the one I need. What if I lose them all? So, I’ve been on the lookout for my new favorite hook.
I was gifted some of the Metal Streamlines by Furls, and so I’m trying them. I like the weight of the Odyssey, and the Metal Streamlines are also heavy like the Odyssey, heavier in fact. I think the Blush color is just gorgeous.
Let me know if you have tried the new Furls Metal Streamline and what do you think of them!
Be sure to sign up for Star Blanket September, and you’ll receive emails with freebies like the 6-Day Superstar Blanket Stitch and Day Tracker cheet sheet above.
Here is the live schedule for the 6-Day Superstar:
September 12, 7:00 p.m. ET
September 13, 7:00 p.m. ET
September 15, 7:00 p.m. ET
September 16, 7:00 p.m. ET
6-Day Supernova Blanket
I’ll be making my 6-Day Supernova Blanket in Noro Tsubame #44.
Noro Tsubame is my favorite yarn for blankets here on the Outer Banks. While it does get cold here, I don’t have a real need for super heavy blankets, and a light, silky wool cover is mostly what suits me best. I like to leave my windows open at home, and my Tsubame blankets are the perfect covering for ocean breezes.
You’ll need to grab this yarn from your local yarn retailer. You can visit Knitting Fever’s Website to find one near you. Treat yourself to the amazing experience of crocheting a Noro blanket just for you.
