Before you Edge
Before you make your edge, you might be wondering when or where to stop crocheting your 6-Day Star Blanket. All 6-Day Crochet patterns have six repeating rows or rounds numbered 2-7. The traditional 6-Day Kid Blanket is meant to end on Row 4, but the star variations are more forgiving, and can end them on either round 4 or 7.
You can, if you have a yarn emergency, end on any round, as long as you do one round of single crochet before you start your border edge.
Reverse Single Crochet
The 6-Day Star, and Supernova Blankets have a very simple edge round of reverse single crochet (rsc). I chose this simple finish because I happen to love it for its simplicity and practicality. I really love the twisted outline that it gives to the star shape, without overpowering it or taking anything away from the main event.
Reverse single crochet, or crab stitch, as it’s sometimes called, is a great basic edge for projects. It’s easy, clean, and creates a neat braided appearance.
Reverse single crochet intimidates crocheters since it’s worked in the opposite direction from normal crochet. If you crochet right handed, you will be crocheting from left to right, instead of right to left. Vice versa for left-handed crocheters.

6-Day Superstar Blanket Edge
This amazing edge was inspired by Edie Eckman and is based on pattern #101 from her book, Around the Corner Crochet Borders. Edie’s technique and stitch books belong on the bookshelf of every crocheter!
Juniper Moon Farm Crochet Along Blanket Edges
The 6-Day Star Blanket for Juniper Moon Farm has a wonderful one-round border slanty pointy border.
The 6-Day Superstar Blanket for Juniper Moon Farm has a similar one-round border with even slantier points. You can find that one right here.
These very similar borders are great for when you want a little something fancy and don’t want to use a ton of extra yarn.
Simple Picot Edge
The cute 6-Day Sweetheart Star Blanket has a simple, dainty picot edge. It’s so easy and quick with just single crochets and chains, it is so much fancier than you might think. You can find it on the blog here.
There are a few projects that aren’t blankets, but that have great borders that you can mix and max for your star blankets.
6-Day Ridgy Didge Superstar and Supernova Blanket Edges
This super simple edge from the 6-Day Ridgy Didge Superstar Blanket is simply 3/3/3 separated by skip stitches and single crochets. You may have to do a little adjusting of your skips to get the points to land on the peaks and valleys. Find that edge here.
The border on the 6-Day Ridgy Didge Supernova Blanket starts like the border from the Ridgy Didge Superstar Blanket, but has a second round of front post stitches to set off the points. This pattern is only available on YouTube.
6-Day Star, Superstar, and Supernova Shawl Edges
The 6-Day Star Blanket inspired shawls have unique borders that you can use on your star blankets.
The 6-Day Star Shawl has a cool dragon scale-inspired edge that’s worked in three rows.
The 6-Day Superstar Shawl has a simple, sweet shell.
The 6-Day Supernova Shawl has a border of half double crochet (hdc) in the third loop (aka camel stitch). This basic border is wonderful for a strong edge that highlights the chain-stitch looking top edge of the half double crochets. It’s really flexible; you can do as many rows of it as you like.
We love a flexible stitch!
6-Day Staro and Superstaro Edges
The 6-Day Staro and Superstaro Shawls are variations of the 6-Day Star and Superstar Shawls that have been specifically written to be used with Noro Yukata Yarn. They have original borders that can be used on any project.

6-Day Holiday Tree Skirt Edges
These three edges were created for the DRAMA and sparkle that they bring to your holiday tree skirt. Feel free to use them on your 6-Day Star projects.
One warning about all three of these edges – they take a long time to complete, so whatever you do, give yourself additional time. Yes, that means, it will likely take you more than six days!
