Pattern: 6-Day Great Granddaddy
Yarn: Like many of Betty’s patterns, almost any yarn will work.
Hook: You will need one hook that is the recommended hook for your yarn with your tension, and one .5mm larger.

6-Day Great Granddaddyo you will 6 Balls (3936 yards) of Noro Tsubame, shown in #23 “Kitami” 4 (worsted) weight silk, wool, polyamide blend.
Crochet Along
On the first three days, we worked on the 6-Day Great Granddaddy Blanket. I started a new blanket in Caron Anniversary Cakes by Yarnspirations, and demonstrated the setup rounds and repeat rounds of the blanket.
Make the blanket larger by repeating the repeat rounds 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 2 in that order until your blanket reaches the size you desire.
You won’t need any more videos for this, all the rounds are the same, just bigger. Follow the stitch counts in the pattern marking off the counts for each repeat as you do them.
You also won’t need a video for the border, it’s so easy! You can work it in the back loop if you want a little bit of variation.

On days 4-6 we worked on the 6-Day Great Granddaddyo Blanket.
This pattern closely resembles the 6-Day Great Granddaddy but is designed specifically for the exquisite Noro Tsubame yarn. Crocheting with this yarn is truly a dream; the vibrant colors create a unique journey for a magical blanket-making experience. After crocheting two blankets with Noro Tsubame, I am utterly spoiled. It has now become my favorite yarn for blankets.
In addition to being incredibly beautiful and a joy to work with, the finished product is the perfect weight. It’s warm but not heavy; it’s drapey and light and perfect for when you just need that extra layer. My Tsubame blankets are the perfect beach house blankets.
A Noro Tsubame blanket is an investment, but it’s worth every penny. Many crocheters give away most, if not all, of what they make. Make this heirloom-quality project as the ultimate in crochet self-care, made just for you. You’ll love both creating and using this beautiful blanket.
